In the last installment, a certain trike was slightly broken. I sent messages to the two trike shops within range on Sunday. One answered almost immediately that they probably had it, but wouldn't know for sure until Tuesday because they were closed Monday.

Unfortunately, I only have these blurry pictures of the damage on the day:

So Tuesday, I took the broken part off, took another picture for scale

and headed down to Zevenbergen to Maia. It was raining pretty heavily, so my OV-fiets and I got pretty soaked, but they did have the part! Except it was the wrong size. No matter, too long is better than too short.

Today, I got a response to the other message I sent on Sunday, that Abeona had the right part in the right size, and they were willing to mail it to me. Oh well, I'd better try the ones I have and make sure they do actually work before I decide not to go to Leiden tomorrow.

It took more time than I'd like to admit, but the new parts are now in place.

It turns out the starboard shifter also got a bit twisted, so I put it back in place while I had the tools handy.
