The weather here has been absurdly nice lately. I guess spring really is just around the corner. Anyway, today Jen and I went to Delftse Hout and tootled around the arboretum there.

It's just beginning to hint at what spring will look like.

And the famous Dutch parakeets were out in force. We saw some number between 2 and 4, inclusive.

I'm told these guys are descended from pets who got loose and thrived.
After that, I went for a bike ride. I headed East-ish, first to Pijnacker's metro station.

Then more East, past a bunch of nature-looking stuff, including this rather large and distinctive bird.

Some bits were more road-y. Unfortunately this is not my speed.

The high-score sign showed a red frowny face for cars going over 50 km/h, and a green smiley face for cars going 50 or under, but it didn't photograph well.
There's a thing people here do to willow trees, where they cut them off at a particular height. It's extremely common, and certain times of year you'll see people out chopping off the year's branches. They frequently come in neat rows like this one.

Anyway, eventually I'd been heading out for a bit over an hour, so I turned around. There was a lot of pretty on the way back too.

I'm trying out a different map maker, but this one didn't let me thicken the line in the background. Anyway, orange is out and blue is back.

The new phone generates somewhat different looking logs, and my parser choked a bit on them. It says my max speed for the 2nd leg (Delftse Hout out) was 146 km/h, which I find implausible. However, the new map maker shows segment lengths and durations, so over the whole thing the recording suggests these:
Elapsed Time: 2 hours 32 minutes
Average Speed (while moving): 20.2 km/h
Total Distance: 43.2
