Another Liberation Day, another bike ride.

This one starts with one of the things I like most about the Netherlands. They were doing some road construction, and had to close the bike lane. Instead of just shunting the bikes into the car lanes, they did this:

closed lane

They closed one of the car lanes and made it a 2-way bike lane.

Anyway, I headed South through Schiedam.

Past a bike path sweeper...

Then along the Delfshaven

past the Euromast

finally to near the Erasmus bridge.

At that point it had been 1 hour so I plotted a route home.

That took me through Rotterdam, past some people dressed up for something.

convention?

Also some art.

Past a shiny museum,

and through a very holiday-appropriately patriotic town.

Phone numbers:

Max speed: 72.2 km/h
Average speed: 21.8 km/h
Total distance: 43.7 km

Bike computer numbers:

Max speed: 35.1 km/h
Average speed: 21.5 km/h
Total distance: 42.08 km

(I think the phone got upset when I spent too long under an overpass and decided I had teleported.)
