Jen's trike is fixed so it was time to take it for a spin. We headed out Southward towards Schiedam on a very nice Liberation day morning.
We left Delft by way of Nieuwelaan, which has some pretty buildings.

On the way, we passed some pretty bridges

and nice views

and the occasional fork in the road.

Eventually, we got to Schiedam, where we had lunch.

This place has a lot of windmills.

They have bridges there too.

On the way back, we took pretty much the same route, but remembered to take more pictures.

If you squint, you might be able to see a huge dog that barked at us.

And you probably don't have to squint to see this horse.

When we got home, they threw us a party.

Since I collected different logs for the way down and the return trip, I have stats for them separated. The map has both, but the blue line is the return.
Headed South:
Max speed: 40.2 km/h
Average speed: 15.9 km/h
Total distance: 15.0 km
Headed North:
Max speed: 33.3 km/h
Average speed: 15.4 km/h
Total distance: 15.6 km
The bike computer says total distance 29.68 km, average speed 15.3 km/h, max 34.4 km/h. Seems likely the GPS got a little carried away when I was zipping under a bridge and got the max speed a bit wrong. Total distance is pretty close. I would have expected the computer to give a higher average speed, though; that's weird.
