Picked up Puffin with Toni and Jen at 1:47. Reefed the main because it was a bit gusty. Went up to see the Constitution, then up toward Mystic River then back to BSC to drop off Jen at about 3. Headed East to Castle Island. Did heave to demo in front of airport, then a little while later the wind shifted from downwind to upwind. Got to Castle Island, turned South to pass Spectacle to the West and headed for the Long Island bridge. Passed between 5 and 6 on the South side of the bridge, and headed SE to R "4", past the sunken ledge, to R "2". Rounded the buoy to port and headed for the GC "5P" then North to RN "2P". The plan from here was to head NE to R "10A" with the bell, but we ended up going to the white and orange mark off Rainsford Island. From there, we pointed at Nixes Mate until we could see the buoys marking the channel between it and Long Island. Through the channel ("1", "2", "3", "4", "5", "6") and we turned straight downwind to head back. Gybed around G "17" off Long Island and passed close to Y "E" marking the president roads anchorage. From there, it was an easy few gybes back to BSC. Back on dry land at 7:19.

Toni was on the tiller from around when we went through the former bridge until we were nearly back at BSC, and handled it nicely. The weather was gorgeous and the wind was very nice. I didn't regret the reef, though we probably could have shaken it out once we got onto president roads on the way back. Distance traveled after dropping off Jen (very) roughly 14.5 miles in 4 hours.
